We will design or redesign your website using the web standards outlined by the W3C. These web standards are becoming employed by more and more browser companies and will therefore future-proof your site and aid further development. More importantly these standards adopt measures that ensure your website will be accessible to all users whether visually impaired or unable to use a mouse or keyboard. When used correctly along with other techniques they will also greatly improve the usability and search engine positioning of your website.
The most basic website structure may include:
-
Your company logo and strap line
A brief introduction of the company and it's products / services
More detailed information on particular products / services with accompanying photos
Latest news on new products and services, special offers, new business etc.
Contact details, location map, opening hours, email form
Here are some points to consider concerning the website development process.
The Visibone website
will let you test colours together or find a complimentary colour for your current branding.
What we need from you.
Possible domain names you wish to register
(see our domains page for advice and to check domain name availability)Think about the information you want to convey and try and structure it into categories and sub-categories
(this will help you decide how many pages you may need)Collate as much information together as possible into a digital format, i.e. logos, images, text etc.
Try and think of about 20 - 30 key words and phrases that prospective clients who require your products / services may search for
(see article links on choosing the right keywords)Write a brief description encapsulating your companies products / services
(no more than 150 words, see article links on writing for the web)Consider any colour schemes or fonts you would like to use
(if you already have design schemes from your print media these will be adapted for the web)
We will obviously aid you in all these decisions but it helps to give these things some thought before we meet.
What you can expect from us.
We will initially go through a discussion process to help us understand your business and your target market and to help you understand each stage of the process. We have a thorough knowledge of the Internet and how it can best help you and therefore we will always try and bring exciting ideas to the table to improve the content of your site. We will undertake extensive research on your competitors and marketplace and will also suggest ways of marketing your website using various methods you may already employ and online methods that may be new to you.
We are not a company that will just design a website and then leave you to it. We will help you make the best decisions depending on your situation and make your move to the Internet as smooth and as stress free as possible. We will always look at ways to improve your site in the future and increase the number of quality visitors.
How long it would take to complete your website.
A website can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to complete. One of the most important factors is the rate of information exchange between yourselves and us. Your timetable will be dependent on other factors including the intricacy of the design, the number of pages in the site and the completion of any content that needs to be included. During the discussion process, we'll decide on a schedule for the project and be in constant communication at every stage.
Where we could meet to get started.
Wherever it is convenient for you. If you are local to the London area, we can come to you. We can set up a free consultation session where we will help you decide if a website designed by Web Harmonics will be of benefit to you.
If you're outside of London, we can develop a site without ever meeting in person, via the phone, the Internet, and by e-mail. You will have a password protected test area on our website so you can review any stages once complete. If necessary we can come to any part of the country but our travel expenses will be passed on to you.
